Nokia and Dopplr say that the purchase will not change the Dopplr service or platforms where Dopplr is integrated. The Dopplr service lets members share personal and business travel plans privately within their networks.

The user can then highlight interesting places to stay, eat, and explore in different cities around the world. The terms of the deal and whether or not the purchase will need to pass any regulatory steps were not disclosed.

Nokia X6 price and launch date surfaces

by admin on Sep.12, 2009, under Nokia

The Nokia X6 was first spied last week at Nokia World in Germany. What we didn’t know at the time was when the device would launch and how much it would cost when it was available.

Expansys jumped the gun, as it often does, and posted the price and launch date for the handset. The retailer shows that the 16GB X6 will sell for £344.99 without the Comes with Music Service.

The 32GB X6 will include Comes with Music service and will sell for £529.99. The 16GB version won’t hit stores until February 23 2010. The 32GB version will come calling in time for holiday shopping with a launch date of November 12.

AT&T fans hoping for N900

by admin on Sep.03, 2009, under Nokia

Announced only a few days ago, the Nokia N900 is expected to become available for purchase sometime in October.

The user interface Maemo 5 comes with on this handset is quite attractive, and it can easily explain why some of the latest rumors on the web stated that Nokia was on its way to get rid of Symbian in favor of this OS. While this won’t happen, we should say that Maemo seems to sport now all the goodies that Symbian should include in the future

Nokia has no plans to offer the N900 in a WCDMA version supporting 850/1900/2100 MHz. Apparently those early reports stemmed from one report that was a pure work of fiction.

Nokia issued a statement saying, “There have been no announcements regarding a version that supports the 850/1900/2100MHz bands.” Boo on you Mr. Fake-Nokia-N900-for-AT&T story maker upper.

Nokia X3 video

by admin on Sep.02, 2009, under Nokia

The X3 looks very nice with a dedicated slide-out numeric keypad. The handset also features quad band GSM connectivity, but alas, the handset is missing 3G. Storage for the device is to 16GB microSD cards and it has a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Support for Flash Lite 3.0 is featured along with a 3.2MP camera. There have been reports that the X3 would be a Comes with Music device, it is not. The X3 will sell for €115 when it hits stores.
