BlueAnt Wireless have announced that they have won the award for ‘Best Cell Phone Accessory’ in the LAPTOP Magazine CTIA 2008 awards for their ‘V1′ Voice Controlled Bluetooth Headset. The device uses dual microphones in order to isolate speech from background noise, while common functionality can be controlled through voice prompts. The work of 12 months R&D and testing, BlueAnt expect the V1 to be available in just a few weeks.

Like many Bluetooth headsets, the V1 can handle voicedials and dialing from contacts via voice. However it will also give verbally-prompted reports on battery life as well as allow you to accept or reject incoming calls by verbal instruction. An interactive help feature can guide you through the system with voice prompts rather than sending you off to the manual.

BlueAnt are estimating a retail price of $129.95 when the V1 launches.

BlueAnt will be showing off their latest and greatest Bluetooth headset called V1 Voice Controlled Bluetooth Headset using the revolutionary BlueGenie Voice User Interface.

By talking to the headset, it talks to you. If you need help and ask for assistance, it will help you get the command you want. This will prevent you from having to fumble around with combination of button pushes. This feature comes in handy for long commute in a vehicle.

So how does it work? All you do is hold the BIG button for 3 seconds, 5 seconds, etc. and speak your command.
