Cellular South now with HTC Hero

by on Sep.22, 2009, under Carriers, HTC

Cellular South is a smaller regional wireless carrier and has been vocal in its opposition to the practice of handset manufacturers giving the large wireless carriers exclusives with the most desired handsets. The company has been able to land its first Android device, the HTC Hero.

The company doesn’t specify when the Hero will be available on its network, but does say that preorders will start on October 5. The handset will be able to access the Android Market and have full Android functionality.

The features of the Cellular South version of the Hero are the same as the Hero on other carriers. These features include a 3.2-inch touch screen, Wi-Fi, GPS, and a 5MP camera. The handset also uses HTC Sense technology.
