AT&T fans hoping for N900

by on Sep.03, 2009, under Nokia

Announced only a few days ago, the Nokia N900 is expected to become available for purchase sometime in October.

The user interface Maemo 5 comes with on this handset is quite attractive, and it can easily explain why some of the latest rumors on the web stated that Nokia was on its way to get rid of Symbian in favor of this OS. While this won’t happen, we should say that Maemo seems to sport now all the goodies that Symbian should include in the future

Nokia has no plans to offer the N900 in a WCDMA version supporting 850/1900/2100 MHz. Apparently those early reports stemmed from one report that was a pure work of fiction.

Nokia issued a statement saying, “There have been no announcements regarding a version that supports the 850/1900/2100MHz bands.” Boo on you Mr. Fake-Nokia-N900-for-AT&T story maker upper.
